Custom Gardens was established in 2008 under the leadership of Ellen Covner. We worked with Ellen for over 10 years as crew and foreman, learning the craft of caring for the landscape plants and soil. We love rehabilitating plants that have become overgrown or are ailing so that they are restored to a beautiful condition. We like to combine new plants with existing plants as appropriate to meet the homeowner’s goal for a pleasurable landscape. We look forward to working with you. View Portfolio

We meet with you for a free consultation where we walk your property and listen to you. We want to know what you like and don’t like about your landscape, colors and plants your love or hate, and what a good landscape feels like to you. Together, we figure out the next steps. Plants and designs take into consideration the condition of the property, the presence of deer or other critters, and the architecture of your house. We incorporate year round color into your landscape so you have something lovely to see in every season. Features may include raised beds, containers, memorial gardens, and gardens around pools and ponds. Your garden is designed to meet the level of maintenance you prefer.
